Hatchets Slump To First Loss

The Herston Hatchets were beaten 2-0 last weekend by Annerley Axis of Evil. The result shocked many pundits and fans, who had previously labelled the team from UQ Med as ‘invincible’, ‘unstoppable’ and ‘too handsome to lose’. However, the loss throws the race for QIF’s Friday Premier division wide open, and throws fuel on the growing rivalry between these two teams. Continue reading

Rumour Mill: Hatchets Manager Wants Out?

Only three games into the QIF season, rumours have emerged that Herston Hatchets co-manager Simon Bennet is keen for a new role in a more challenging environment. What started as an innocent Facebook ‘like’ (as seen below) quickly evolved into multiple reciprocated Pokes (apparently Facebook still has that function) and by late Tuesday night a controversial mid-season transfer seemed well and truly in motion.
